Freezing is a common challenge in individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD). While visual cues have been shown to be beneficial, their utility is limited since freezing episodes can occur unexpectedly.

Introducing PD Stepfinder, an augmented reality application that offers a straightforward solution. This app places visual cues on any surface to assist in navigating freezing episodes.

Key features include:

<li>Diverse cue options: choose from various shapes (circles, lines, checkerboards) based on your preferences
</li>
<li>Color variety: opt for hues that contrast well with the ground surface</li>
<li>Auditory cues: an alternative option for individuals more receptive to sound signals</li>
<li>Countdown feature: employs a 1-2-3 step approach to aid in overcoming freezing moments</li>
</ul>

PD Stepfinder is a collaborative effort tailored FOR the Parkinson’s community BY the Parkinson’s community. Developed with insights from individuals with Parkinson’s, caregivers, neurologists, and movement disorder specialists, the app values user input.
